For me, interior design has never been about following trends or creating spaces that simply look beautiful. It's about understanding how people live, what makes a place unique, and how thoughtful design can bring those things together to create a home that feels settled, connected and deeply personal.

Every project begins by listening.

To the people who will live there.

To the character of the site.

To the architecture.

To the everyday moments that will unfold within the home for years to come.

From there, every decision is considered in context. Layouts, materials, lighting, joinery and finishes are resolved together so the home feels cohesive rather than a series of individual choices. The aim is never to impose a style, but to create a home that feels naturally at home in its surroundings and genuinely reflects the people who live there.

I believe good design can make everyday life easier. It can bring clarity to a complex building process, create places where families naturally come together, and provide spaces that feel calm, supportive and restorative. While every family is different, every home should feel like a place people want to return to.

MY APPROACH

I work with homeowners, builders and architects on custom homes and thoughtful renovations across the Sunshine Coast.

Whether I'm involved from the earliest planning stages or providing detailed interior documentation through construction, my role is to bring clarity to hundreds of decisions while protecting the integrity of the overall design.

By resolving decisions early and considering the home as a whole, I help create a smoother experience for clients and builders alike, resulting in homes that feel considered, cohesive and enduring.

EXPERIENCE

With more than 18 years of experience in residential interior design, including early career work on high-end projects in London, I've developed a practical understanding of how thoughtful design, detailed documentation and collaborative relationships contribute to successful homes.

Today, Shah de Saxe Interiors is based in Peregian Beach, working with homeowners, builders and architects throughout the Sunshine Coast to create homes that belong — to their people, their place and the life lived within them.
